Reschedule Your Exam

If you do not take your examination on the date scheduled or wish to change your scheduled date, you may apply for another examination date by using the eLicensing online system to expedite processing or by completing, signing and returning your Examination Schedule Notice (RE 401A for Salesperson, RE 401B for Broker) with the appropriate fee by mail to:

Department of Real Estate
Examination Section
P.O. Box 137001
Sacramento, CA 95813-7001

NOTE: You may be scheduled for only one exam at a time. Rescheduling will remove you from your current exam. Your reschedule application should only be submitted once (by eLicensing or by mail) or your examination date may be changed and the fee may be charged again.

The fees for the first reschedule and subsequent reschedules are different. Fees remitted will not be refunded (Section 10207 of the Business and Professions Code).

If your Examination Schedule Notice (RE 401A for Salesperson, RE 401B for Broker) has been lost, you can reschedule by using the eLicensing online system or by submitting a Salesperson Examination Change Application (RE 415A) Denotes a PDF document or Broker Examination Change Application (RE 415B) Denotes a PDF document.

NEW FEATURE: Qualified examinees can now schedule themselves into an available exam via eLicensing as late as 6:00 a.m. on the day of the exam. Examinees will then be able to print themselves a barcoded schedule notice online to take to the exam. Additionally, examinees that use eLicensing for exam scheduling will no longer be mailed out exam schedule notices as those can now be printed online.
